The longer focal length offered by the SkyView Pro 6LT is the way to go for high-power viewing of celestial wonders such as lunar terrain, Jupiter's cloud bands and Mars' surface features; for splitting double stars; and for resolving tight globular star clusters!

The scope's 150mm center-marked parabolic mirror has a long 1200mm focal length (f/8), which delivers 60% greater magnifying power than a 750mm "short" reflector using the same eyepiece, and with less edge-of-field distortion (coma). The 6LT's small secondary obstruction, as compared to rich-field reflectors, produces clarity and contrast approaching that of a 5" refractor.

This scope's 45"-long enameled steel optical tube clamps to the SkyView Pro equatorial mount head via a dovetail plate for fast set-up and take-down. This fine mount moves gracefully on its axes and provides stability and precision control.

With great features stainless steel tube legs, dual setting circles and dual slow-motion controls, this mount sets a new standard in EQ control. One-year limited warranty.

The 6LT comes with Orion's Starry Night™ Special Edition astronomy software, which you can use to explore the solar system with interactive SkyGuide tours, access 1 million milf stars and celestial objects, view and print detailed maps of your local sky and receive automatic updates of satellite, comet and asteroid orbital data. Requires PC running Windows XP or Macintosh running OS 10.3 or higher.
