The Orion SkyView Pro 127mm is a compound telescope for the enthusiast who appreciates the practicality of a compact telescope yet wants the best features and performance available.

The 127's 5" Maksutov-Cassegrain optics pull in plenty of light for views of deep-sky gems. With this scope's focal length of 1540mm (f12.1), you can't beat it for high-magnification study of the lunar surface and planets. Not bad for a tube assembly that's just 14.5" long.

The SkyView Pro equatorial mount combines stability and precision control. It is nicely portable, and the optics cool down in no time so you can carry the scope outdoors for a quick look around practically on a whim. The mount has a one-year warranty.

As an added bonus, include the TrueTrack DC drive for hands-free, regulated electronic tracking and photographic guiding (requires 4 "D" batteries, not included) is included.

The telesccope comes with Orion's Starry Night™ Special Edition astronomy software, which you can use to explore the solar system with interactive SkyGuide tours, access 1 million stars and celestial objects, view and print detailed maps of your local sky and receive automatic updates of satellite, comet and asteroid orbital data. Requires PC running Windows XP or Macintosh running OS 10.3 or higher.

The SkyView Pro also includes a padded carrying case for the tube assembly, a 6x30 finder scope, 90" star diagonal and two Sirius Plšssl eyepieces (25.0mm and 10.0mm). The eyepiece holder accepts an optional camera T-ring for prime-focus photography.
