Orion SkyView Pro 80mm ED EQ with TrueTrack dual-axis drive

A complete equatorial package at a very attractive price

The Orion SkyView Pro 80mm ED EQ with TrueTrack dual-axis drive is designed for the advanced astronomer. It is ideal for deep-sky or high-power planetary study and includes astronomy software & electronic drive.

With a focal length of 600mm (f/7.5), the SkyView Pro ED is wonderfully suited for visual applications on both solar system and deep-sky objects as well as for prime-focus astrophotography and CCD imaging.

One element of the multi-coated 80mm objective lens doublet is crafted from extra-low dispersion "ED" optical glass, which virtually eliminates chromatic aberration. Images appear remarkably sharp and clean - simply bright object against a deep black sky.

Extremely fine focusing can be achieved with the superb, backlash-free 2" Crayford-style focuser, which accepts both 2" and 1.25" diagonals. The molded-in dovetail base accepts the optional Orion finder scope of your choice.

The SkyView Pro equatorial mount combines stability and precision control. It is easily portable, and the optics cool rapidly so you can carry the scope outdoors for a quick look around practically on a whim. The mount has a one-year warranty.

As a bonus included with the telescope is the TrueTrack DC drive for hands-free, regulated electronic tracking and photographic guiding (ideal for long exposure) (requires 4 "D" batteries, not included).

This unbelieveable package also comes with Orion's Starry Night™ Special Edition astronomy software, which you can use to explore the solar system with interactive SkyGuide tours, access 1 million stars and celestial objects, view and print detailed maps of your local sky and receive automatic updates of satellite, comet and asteroid orbital data. Requires PC running Windows XP or Macintosh running OS 10.3 or higher.
