For the advanced Amateur
The Meade 10" LX200GPS telescope offers state-of-the-art optical, mechanical and electronic
performance. The LX200GPS telescope features automatic alignment accomplished using integrated true-level and North electronic sensors in combination with a 16-channel GPS receiver.
In addition, the revolutionary new rear-cell system has a Primary Mirror Lock: simply flip a knob to lock the primary mirror rigidly in place. Used in conjunction with the
electronic Zero Image-Shift Microfocuser, the primary mirror lock completely cancels any residual image shift while focusing during visual, photographic or CCD imaging applications.
Meade's GO TO Autostar II feature has a 3.5MB memory and a database of more than 125,000 celestial objects. The Ultra-High Transmission Coatings (UHTC) result in a dramatic
20% increase in image brightness and resolution on the Moon and planets and in deep-space. Smart Mount Technology (SMT) allows the telescope to learn about, and then correct for, any
systematic pointing errors, regardless of the cause.
The scope's heavy-duty fork mount is built for durability and precision with its 4" polar ball bearing, dual-axis
5.75" worm gears and 7-port multi-function control panel. Other features include: 8 x 50mm viewfinder; 1.25" diagonal prism; Series 4000 Super Plössl 26mm eyepiece; standard
field tripod; operating instructions. Requires 8 "C" batteries (not included).
